Duke Nukem by ShroomArts Duke Nukem by ShroomArts
your average alcoholic, weapon toting, steroid consuming macho of the 90s. The main protagonist of the best fps game of 1996 (duke 3D) and the worst fps game of 2011 (duke forever)

One of the most iconic protagonists in the video game franchise... starring one of the worst games ever made, lol I still love Duke with all his jokes.

quite an evolution he had from smiling blonde dwarf in pyjamas  to a macho. while i didnt enjoy 1 and 2, i had a few friends who loved them

They're old school, and while they're fun, it's not for everyone nowadays. I think they're good games but the best one is 3D.

i dont mind playing old games today (be it pc, 8-16 bit consoles or c64 cassettes) but i guess nukem's felt lacking somehow compared to other platform games of the same era. can be to do with poor visuals, dull enemies and limited choice of colour. almost like a dated c64 port on pc. however the third manages to bring lots of character to the hero and his enemies and strays away from the dullness of the first two.

Also 3D is alive because the community keeps uploading more mods and maps, for a game released in 1996 is completely awesome, alive for 20 years and still going

havent played any mods or expansions. just had the original with the 3 episodes. can tell the engine had much potential as they made shadow warrior afterwards which included some cool features addition to duke3D. but thats another story and another artwork :)

You should try some mods, they're really well made and fun! For example, I had a blast with WG Realms 2.
